Sparkling Peach Shrub Recipe
Ingredients for Sparkling Peach Shrub
For the Peach Shrub:
2 oz Peach shrub syrup
4 oz Cloud 9 Sparkling Wine (Mocktail Option: Replace with Club Soda)
Ice cubes
Fresh peach slices for garnish
Fresh thyme for garnish
For the Peach Shrub Syrup:
1 cup diced ripe peaches
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
Prepare the Peach Shrub Syrup
Combine Ingredients:
In a saucepan, combine diced peaches, granulated sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Mash Peaches:
Once the mixture starts to simmer, use a spoon or potato masher to gently mash the peaches.
Simmer Further:
Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the peaches have softened and the sugar has dissolved completely.
Strain:
Remove the pan from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a clean bowl or jar. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool completely.
Prepare the Sparkling Peach Shrub Cocktail:
Fill Glass:
Fill a glass with ice cubes to chill the cocktail.
Add Peach Shrub Syrup:
Measure 2 oz of the prepared peach shrub syrup and pour it over the ice in the glass.
Top with French Valley Cloud 9 Sparkling Wine:
Pour 4 oz of Cloud 9 Sparkling Wine into the glass, filling it to the top.
Stir:
Gently stir the ingredients in the glass to combine them evenly.
